Burger Wuss

Anderson, M. (1999). Burger Wuss. Cambridge, Mass.: Candlewick Press. Anthony is a teenage boy that is love with Diana. The problem occurs when he catches Diana with another boy named Tanner. So, Anthony concocts a crazy plan of revenge that begins with his getting a job a O'Dermott's with Tanner. The rivalry continues with mascot stealing, food contamination, fire extinguisher pranks just to name a few. Teenagers can sympathize with the mundane tasks of a lame first job. It had me laughing out loud through most of the book. When the kids would go around town vandalizing grammatical errors I had tearing running down my face. The plot of the book is unique. How often do you hear of kids getting a job just to exact revenge on a rival? Yeah, I haven't heard of any either. It was definitely entertaining to see what Anthony and Tanner would do next.
